I currently live and work on the traditional and unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, the traditional territory of the Snuneymuxw First Nation. Growing up, my parents instilled in me strong values of integrity, hard work, honesty, and community. From a young age, I was taught to appreciate what I have, to have respect for others, and to operate with integrity. My passion for connecting with people from diverse backgrounds has drawn me to work in roles where I get to hear peoples’ stories and focus on what is truly important to them. I recognize the power of voice and choice to empower people to overcome challenges, to feel more content in their present situation, and to plan ahead for what is yet to come. I acknowledge that access to choice and voice is influenced by one’s social position in society, and I strive to understand where people come from and what informs their story. I believe that when one is given the space to tap into their inner resources and to draw on their strengths, that they are better able to harness their inner powers and make choices that promote happier and healthier lives.
